LiveWell’s Spring Virtual Learning Collaborative Launches!
This month, four new teams joined our group of LiveWell practitioners. Despite the challenges posed by persistent COVID-19 impact and staffing shortages, these four communities have committed themselves to implementing a proven quality improvement program that is easy to understand and improves staff satisfaction and retention, person-centered care, and teamwork.
Learn more about our new communities below! We look forward to sharing their progress with you.
Mt. Bachelor Memory Care Residence
Mt. Bachelor Memory Care is located in Bend, OR. They are a 56-bed combined memory care and assisted living facility with private apartments and four courtyards. Their staff aims to provide highly personalized care to residents. The team at Mt. Bachelor enjoyed the process of building their community quality board with both residents and staff. Their board shows hikers climbing Mt. Bachelor as they improve quality within their community. They also have a champion night-time shift nurse who has experience doing huddles. See their first board below!
Turner Retirement Homes
Turner Retirement Homes is located in Turner, OR. They are a non-profit faith-based organization offering independent and assisted living facilities for 40 people. Staff provide spiritual, physical, and essential needs for residents. The staff created a community quality board and are using our dot-voting tool to decide together which quality metrics to track and improve. Staff learned about LiveWell in the all-staff meeting held earlier this month, in order to promote better communication and collaboration with staff who are not in attendance at the VLC sessions.
River Grove Memory Care
River Grove is located in Eugene, Oregon. They are a 60-bed memory care community that specializes in Alzheimer’s Disease. River Grove created a community quality board, which included our clock tool for tracking the timing of falls. They have introduced LiveWell to their entire staff and plan on adding more to their boards as the virtual learning collaborative progresses.
Conifer House Assisted Living
Conifer House opened in 1989 and was the first residential care community in Corvallis, Oregon! It is a combined residential and memory care community that emphasizes maximizing independence for their residents while providing individualized support. They have 15 residential care and 33 memory care beds. They are building their community quality boards with their staff and plan to begin huddles with their teams this week.

Let’s Talk: Reducing 911 Calls in LTC with Sid Humphries
Long term care facilities often turn to 911 when they have no other option or training available to them. This month’s presenter, Sid Humphries, is working on providing our sector with further training and support via local fire departments in order to reduce strain on our 911 systems.
This is going to be an exciting and useful discussion for all!
We’d love to see your faces and hear your voices at our LiveWell Meet-Ups! We’re building community by creating a forum for staff to get to know peers, give and get advice, and build camaraderie by sharing challenges and successes. Also, let us know what you're interested in at the link below!
Have a greaet month!
